Probate & Trust Administration

Many people have heard the term “probate” but wonder what it actually means. Probate is the process by which a Court appoints a Personal Representative to administer a decedent’s estate, and approves a decedent’s Last Will. Probate is not required in every instance. The procedure for administration after someone passes away is dependent on the decedent’s estate planning, the location of the decedent’s property and the size of the decedent’s probate estate.

Our practice also focuses on assisting clients with post-death administration, questions or disputes. Our representation can be limited to educating clients about their duties and the process, or can include a more active role. We understand how difficult these times can be, and strive to lift the burden off of the family during these trying times.
